Announcement of Kapit-Bisig Laban COVID in Kitchener-Waterloo

Kapit Bisig is a Tagalog term that translates to “linked arms.” This is what Kitchener-Waterloo Committee for Human Rights in the Philippines (KWCHRP) aims to accomplish in the Waterloo Region as part of the larger Kapit Bisig Laban COVID network across Canada to provide community resources to as many Filipino migrant workers as possible.

Community care and mutual aid is essential for overcoming the hardships that are facing migrant and front-line workers during the COVID-19 pandemic and through Kapit Bisig Kitchener-Waterloo, we hope to put our collectivized efforts toward providing the food, aid, and resources necessary and building a network of kababayans in the Waterloo Region. We are not a charity, but a mutual aid network for Filipinos in Kitchener-Waterloo. We emphasize the practice of “bayanihan” as central to Kapit Bisig as we are dedicated to building cooperation and communal spirit through mutual care and assistance.

If you are in need of mutual aid or know anyone who is, please reach out to Kapit Bisig Kitchener-Waterloo. We also encourage you to provide aid and support to others in our community! Volunteers are welcome and are integral to building solidarity and communal spirit - together, we can make a difference for those most harmed by the COVID-19 pandemic in our community. We are in this together!

Anyone reaching out for aid or interested in volunteering with us is encouraged to fill out the form on our website or contact us directly at our email kwchrphilippines@gmail.com. Please note that your information is confidential and will only be shared with the Kapit Bisig Laban COVID team for organized relief efforts.
